Foxboro, Mass. — TeamONE 19U built a two-goal lead in the opening period, weathered a third-period push from WC Swans OGs, and responded with two late goals to secure a 4-2 victory on Saturday morning. After a scoreless second period, all four goals in the final frame came over the last 15 minutes of play.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
TeamONE 19U struck first at the 4:59 mark of the opening period when Maggie Berleth found the back of the net to give her team a 1-0 advantage.
Berleth added her second goal of the game later in the period, scoring again at 12:34 to extend the TeamONE lead to 2-0 heading into the first intermission.
Neither team was able to break through during a penalty-filled second period, and the two-goal margin remained intact entering the final frame.
WC Swans OGs quickly changed the complexion of the game in the third period. Just 55 seconds after the restart, Penny Saich cut the deficit in half. Later in the period, Teagen Beigel scored at the 12:20 mark to even the score at 2-2.
TeamONE answered less than a minute later. At 13:23, Berleth completed the hat trick with her third goal of the contest, assisted by Maja Olsson, putting TeamONE back in front.
The insurance goal followed shortly after when Shae Gould scored at 14:10, restoring a two-goal cushion and sealing the victory.
TeamONE 19U finished strong after surrendering the lead, closing the game with consecutive goals to earn the 4-2 win.
