Foxboro, Mass. — Corners Hockey put together a strong offensive performance and came away with a 3-1 win over WC Swans Black 19U on Saturday afternoon.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Corners Hockey opened the scoring late in the first period when Katelyn Nickerson found the back of the net at 14:16. Kate Tarr recorded the assist to give Corners a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The lead grew in the closing moments of the second period. With just 35 seconds remaining in the frame, Brenna O’Reilly scored at 14:25 off assists from Izzy King and Daniella Riley, extending the advantage to 2-0.
Corners added another goal midway through the third period when Anna Davidson scored at 8:09, with Lauren Mclean picking up the assist to make it 3-0.
WC Swans Black 19U got on the board later in the period as Lana Ermilio scored at 11:37. Lucey Jean and Clover Logan were credited with assists on the play.
The late goal would not be enough to spark a comeback, however, as Corners Hockey closed out the remaining minutes to secure the 3-1 victory.
