Foxboro, Mass. — Jr. Panthers jumped in front twice, but WC Swans Gold 19U answered each time as the teams skated to a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Neither team was able to break through during a scoreless first period, sending the game into the intermission tied 0-0.
Jr. Panthers broke the deadlock early in the second period when Maely Parent scored at 4:18, with Taylor Stoll picking up the assist.
WC Swans Gold 19U responded later in the frame. At 10:23, Annie Flippo scored off an assist from Payton Curran to even the score at 1-1.
Jr. Panthers reclaimed the lead before the period ended. Laurence Foster found the back of the net at 14:37 with help from Alicia Cote, giving Jr. Panthers a 2-1 advantage heading into the third.
WC Swans Gold 19U had an answer once again in the final period. At 11:43, Makena Simonds scored the equalizer, assisted by Flippo, knotting the game at 2-2.
Neither side was able to break the tie before the final buzzer, and the teams settled for a draw.
