Foxboro, Mass. — North American Elite 16U scored three times in the opening period and added another goal in the second to earn a 4-0 victory over WC Swans Gold 2010 on Friday evening. Three different players found the back of the net before the first intermission as North American Elite established an early lead and never looked back.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Elsa Xi opened the scoring at the 8:04 mark of the first period, giving North American Elite 16U a 1-0 advantage.
The lead grew later in the frame when Ellie Laganas scored at 12:16 off an assist from Caroline Warrington, making it 2-0.
North American Elite struck again in the closing seconds of the period. With just 23 seconds remaining before the intermission, Kylie Clancy converted a feed from Liz Averill to send her team into the break with a three-goal cushion.
The scoring continued in the second period as Kayla O’Connor found the back of the net at the 12:01 mark, extending the lead to 4-0.
WC Swans Gold 2010 continued to compete throughout the remainder of the contest, but neither team added another goal as North American Elite 16U finished off the 4-0 shutout victory.
