Foxboro, Mass. — North American Elite 19U earned a 2-0 victory over WC Swans OGs on Friday evening. After breaking through late in the opening period, North American Elite added to its lead early in the second and maintained the advantage throughout the remainder of the contest.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
North American Elite 19U opened the scoring at the 9:36 mark of the first period when Natasha Godfrey found the back of the net off an assist from Sienna Glass, giving her team a 1-0 lead.
The lead doubled early in the second period. Just 34 seconds after the puck dropped, Sofie Garmise finished a play set up by Natalia Brown to extend North American Elite’s advantage to 2-0.
WC Swans OGs continued to search for a breakthrough throughout the middle frame and into the third period, but North American Elite remained in control defensively and prevented any comeback attempt from gaining momentum.
With the two-goal cushion intact, North American Elite 19U closed out a scoreless third period to secure the 2-0 shutout victory.
