Foxboro, Mass. — TeamONE 16U capitalized on its scoring opportunity late in the first period and relied on a strong defensive performance the rest of the way to earn a 1-0 victory over WC Swans Gold 2011 on Sunday morning.

Both teams came out ready to compete, with neither side able to generate a breakthrough during the opening minutes of play. The game remained tightly contested as each team looked for the first goal.
TeamONE 16U finally found the difference-maker late in the first period. At 15:46, Elle Edelman scored off an assist from Kara Martin, giving TeamONE 16U a 1-0 lead.
