Foxboro, Mass. — TeamONE 16U scored late in the first period and early in the second to build a two-goal advantage, then withstood a push from Hallzy Films Blue to earn a 2-1 win on Saturday morning.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
After a scoreless opening 19 minutes, TeamONE broke through with just 44 seconds remaining in the first period. Chloe McLain found the back of the net at 19:16 off an assist from Gianna Marshall, giving TeamONE a 1-0 lead heading into the intermission.
TeamONE doubled its advantage early in the second period. At 3:07, Sam Anderson finished a setup from Ashlee Grillo to make it 2-0.
Hallzy Films Blue responded less than two minutes later when Caitlin O’Neill scored at the 4:54 mark, with Bella Crowder earning the assist to cut the deficit in half.
The remainder of the contest featured strong defensive play from both teams, as neither side was able to add another goal. Hallzy Films Blue continued to press for the equalizer, but TeamONE maintained its one-goal advantage through the final horn.
