Foxboro, Mass. — TeamONE 16U scored three times in the opening period and carried that momentum to a 3-1 victory over WC Swans Gold 2011 on Saturday afternoon.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
TeamONE got on the board early when Gianna Marshall finished a setup from Sam Anderson at 2:45 of the first period.
The lead grew midway through the frame as Chloe McLain found the back of the net at 9:17, making it 2-0.
TeamONE added one more before the period came to a close. With just under two minutes remaining, Sam Anderson scored at 18:22 to send her team into the intermission with a three-goal advantage.
WC Swans Gold 2011 answered in the second period when Abby Kreiman scored at 5:30 off a pass from Ella Barille, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
That would be the final goal of the game, however, as TeamONE 16U kept WC Swans Gold 2011 off the scoreboard the rest of the way to finish off the 3-1 win.
