Tier 1 tops Top Speed 3-2.

FOXBORO – It was a tournament opening win on Friday for Tier 1 Girls Futures at the 2024 Women’s Chowder Cup. They defeated Top Speed Hockey U16 3-2 at the Foxboro Sports Center.

The tight scoring affair began with a three-goal first that saw Tier 1 take a 2-1 lead at the half. Mackinzey Bridges and Madelyn Nichols each scored to give Tier 1 a 2-0 advantage. Abigail Eith netted one in the closing minutes to put Top Speed on the board heading into the break.

Eith’s goal did not change momentum for Top Speed as Tier 1 restored their two-goal advantage on a Gigi Cano goal just past the midpoint of the second. Top Speed once again scored in the closing minutes of the half – this one credited to Emma Oullette – but Chloe Kim locked things down in the Tier 1 net to secure the 3-2 victory.
