FOXBORO – TeamONE U16’s perfect run through the preliminary round of the 2023 Women’s Chowder Cup wrapped up on Saturday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center. They defeated the WC Swans ’08 by a score of 1-0.
After putting up a pair of 3-0 shutout victories and a 3-1 win over the Cape Cod Kraken to open up the tournament, TeamONE found themselves in their tightest battle of the tournament when they faced the Swans. A goaltenders’ duel ensued between TeamONE’s Callie Corraro and Swans counterpart Kenzie Ayou.
There was just one goal in the contest, and it came on the earlier side in the first when Nikkita Danchak broke through for her first goal of the tournament. The game-winner coming with 13:36 remaining in the first period.
