Eagles top Swans in a tight one, 3-2.

FOXBORO – The CT Jr. Eagles opened their U16 divisional stay at the 2023 Women’s Chowder Cup with a win on Friday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center. They defeated the WC Swans 3-2

It was a first frame dominated by goaltending play as the Eagles Natalie Spaeth and Swans counterpart Kenzie Ayou turned aside just about every attempt their opposition threw at them. Only Spaeth yielded in the opening period, as Brooke Cutler scored to give the Swans a 1-0 lead at the intermission.

Cutler scored again, this time on the power play, to open the second period and a 2-0 advantage for the Swans. The Eagles got a power play goal of their own from Rachel Turer to get into the scoring column and start the comeback.

Abigail Nager brought the game to even at 2-2 later in the second before Mia Laudato put the Eagles ahead for good less than a minute later with the 3-2 game-winner.
