FOXBORO – New England Pro-Am Hockey’s Women’s Chowder Cup as made its return to the ice on Friday morning. The first win at the 2023 edition of the tournament went to TeamONE, who defeated the Cape Cod Kraken 3-1 in U16 division play at the Foxboro Sports Center.
TeamONE made a strong impression in their first period of play at the tournament, making their way through the first frame with a 2-0 advantage. Goals went to Phoebe Weisman and Brighton McMan, while goaltender Callie Corraro thwarted all Kraken bids that came towards the TeamONE net.
Cape Cod got themselves on the board in the second with a Julia Kipperman goal, but TeamONE had one more in them as well. Katie Collins – the game’s scoring leader (1G, 1A) – rounded out the 3-1 final.
