FOXBORO – To say their play has been inspiring through their first two U19 College Prospects division games at the 2025 Women’s Chowder Cup would be lazy writing, but Inspire Hockey has been close to it. They posted their second shutout victory of the tournament Saturday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center when they defeated the CT Lightning 7-0.
Inspire got things going with a pair of goals in the first, but it was in the second their offense really got going. They struck for five in the middle frame, running the score to its 7-0 final and putting the contest away.
Anika Singh was the game’s top scorer, credited with a four-point showing (2G, 2A). That performance was seconded by a pair of goals for Lilly Shaughnessy and a goal and assist from teammate Catie Putt.
Netminder Evelyn Lacey was credited with their second shutout of the tournament.
