FOXBORO – WC Swans Orange got the second day of their stay at the 2023 Women’s Chowder Cup going with a win on Saturday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center. They defeated the Mason Dixon Selects 3-1 in U19 division play.
A one goal output from the first was tripled in the second as the Swans ran out to a 3-0 lead over their foes through two periods. Molly Murphy, Kat Precobb and Rachel Keating credited with doing the scoring to give the Swans the advantage.
Mason Dixon finally got on the board in the third with a goal coming from Emily Phillips, but there was no comeback to be had. Netminder Lila Chamoun, who came on in relief of Hailey Graybeal mid-second, kept Mason Dixon off the board the rest of the way to preserve the 3-1 win.
